myths and practicality of ayurveda

Ayurveda is considered to be ancient knowledge of curing diseases. Old Rushi Munis /Vaidyas use to practice Ayurved after practically using medicines and researching them on patients and keeping a 
record for their findings in the books which are now used by students for learning different teaching of  Ayurveda.
Vaidya shusrut is considered Father of modern surgery. He gave detailed description of different surgical instruments and procedure by drawing them in his text, Shusrut Samhita.
Ayurveda can used as a lifestyle science for a healthy life.

Lets discuss about the Myths and practicality in Ayurveda.




Myths:

  • Ayurveda is an ancient science and is not effective for chronic diseases.
  • Its tedious to do treatment with AYURVEDA
  • Ayurvedic form of surgery is not practical
  • All medicines in ayurveda is bitter in taste
Answers:
  • Chronic diseases are very well treated with ayurved  . It basically takes patience and dedication for any ayurvedic treatment to be effective. Along with medicines ,proper diet and excercise can give you relief.
  • Procedures like panchkarma can take time but they are considered partial treatment for any disease in Ayurveda.
  • By using modern surgical instruments Ayurvedic form of surgery  can be achieved effectively.Many Ayurvedic surgeons practice surgery succesfully by integrating modern and ayurvedic surgery techniques.
  • Yes most of the medicines in Ayurveda are bitter but we Vaidya also ask to take Anupan i.e supplement taste boosters in any medicine for better absorption of medicine in the body which are mostly sweet in taste. Nowadays many manufacturer make medicines as per customers taste buds need. 
Practicality of Ayurveda:
  • All teaching in ancient texts are not practically applicable in todays's world. Vaidyas have adapted many formulations as per today's patients needs.
  • Herbal medicnes and ayurvedic medicines are different. herbal medicines comprise of herbal knowledge from all parts of world like chinese, unani, egyptian etc. Their application is not recorded. Ayurvedic medicines include herbs which hve practical applications listed in literatures by vaidyas.
  • Following Ayurvedic lifestyle is easy and doable.
  • Ayurvedic treatment can definately reduce your disease with its first dosage its true only if you follow proper diet and excercise.
  • Yog is a different from ayurveda, Yog now called Yoga due to western influence is a scinece of proper posture and state of mind.
